Depending on the program in which you register for will determine the immunizations required for students to participate in clinical experiences. Students are expected to provide documented proof of the following health requirements prior to starting their program.

Basic 75-hour Certified Nurse Aide (CNA)

1. TB Skin Test or IGRA (Interferon Gamma Release Assay - QuantiFERON-TB Gold or T-Spot)

• • TB Skin Test (2-step skin test required)
    • If you have documentation of (1) negative TST in the past 12 months, you will need one more TST to meet the two-step requirement. 
    • A TST or IGRA is also required annually, after the two-step is completed initially.
  • If you have never had any TB skin testing, or it's been greater than (1) year, the two-step TST is done as follows:
    • The first test is placed, and results are read in 48-72 hours. 
    • The second test is placed at least 7 days after reading the first test and are read in 48-72 hours.
  • If you have completed TST in the last 12 months, submit documentation to the office. The documentation must include the following: your full name, clinic/doctor's office, placement date, reading date, result, mm induration and signature of who administered and read the test. 

2. Covid Vaccine or Exemption

• • Signature Healthcare does not require students to be vaccinated however, we strongly encourage all students to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Many of our clinical sites are requiring proof of COVID-19 vaccination for students and faculty to be in their facilities. Clinical sites must meet the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) COVID-19 health care rule that requires individuals to either document their vaccination status or document their exemption. 
  • You are considered fully vaccinated 2 weeks after the second dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine, or 2 weeks after the single-dose Johnson & Johnson's Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine.

Phlebotomy Technician Program and Advanced Certified Nurse Aide 150-hour Course

2. MMR documentation 

• • Verification of 2 vaccines or Titer showing positive immunity to all 3 (measles, mumps, rubella). 

3. Varicella documentation

• • Verification of vaccination series OR Titer showing positive immunity.

4. Hepatitis B Vaccine, Titer or Declination

• • Documentation of completed series of vaccines (completed at the appropriate intervals) OR positive titer OR completely filled out form declining the vaccine. 
  • If the Hep B titer is negative, you will need to repeat the entire Hep B series. 
  • If you do not have Hep B vaccination records but think you have had them, you can get a titer to check for immunity. 

5. Covid Vaccine or Exemption

• • The influenza is required annually due to the nature of clinical experiences. Proof of vaccination is required September 1 - March 31.
